Boltbus Fares Boston to New York For $1, We Show You How…

It’s not easy to travel on a budget. Bus service between major U.S. cities like Boston and NY can be especially pricey. Even Greyhound bus is not cheap. Luckily, there are a few bus lines that offer cheaper rates. One of my favorites is Boltbus.

Bolt is fairly new to the bus scene. Like many other lines, Bolt service runs from South Station in Boston to Penn Station in NYC. Both drop off points offer convenient access to public transportation and tourist sites. Boltbus makes its final New York stop right next door to Madison Square Garden. The station is just a short walk from both Times Square and the Empire State Building. Boston’s South Station is located near several waterfront seafood restaurants. The station is also a leisurely walk from the Charles River. Both drop points are close to a number of great bargain hotels. Every minute counts when you’re on a weekend getaway. With the Boltbus route, you’ll be sure to arrive near your intended destination.

Boltbus Services and Travel Time For Boston To New York.

Unlike other buses like Fung Wah, Boltbus provides some great services that other lines tend not to offer. Bolt is one of few lines that offer reserved seating for its customers. It’s important to note that “reserved seating” is not the same as assigned seating. The reserved seating policy means that Bolt won’t overbook its buses like other lines. So, you can be sure that your travel time will not be pushed back. The best part of a trip often includes rushing to a ball game or a show at one of the city’s famous hot spots. Knowing that your seat is assured can be important to your travel schedule. Bolt’s dependable service and drivers will let you plan your trip without having to worry about travel times. Their practice of boarding by groups also helps to ensure a timely departure. You might even be able to bug your driver for tips on local restaurants.

The bus from Boston to New York runs an average of 5 to 6 hours. Comfort is key to a trip this long. Bolt’s buses are equipped with some pleasant extras. Like Megabus, Boltbus is popular with students and business commuters for its free wi-fi. Bolt is different than Megabus in that it offers easy access to power outlets as well. These features cost no extra fees. Their plug-ins let you surf the web and keep your iPod charged during the entire ride. (This came in handy for me once when my phone was on its last minutes of battery life!) These on-board amenities help make the trip less worrisome. Even with these extras, some passengers tend to shy away from buses because they are known for cramped seats. But one of the best features of Bolt is their extra legroom and clean, comfortable seating. If you are a frequent traveler, you’ll know that this is a welcome feature. Boltbus seats offer ample space for you to sit back and relax with a good book. You might even take a nap during the ride. The extra room is also great for those with special needs or carry-on luggage. Reviews online show that commuters prefer Boltbus to other lines, like the Fung Wah. And for frequent travelers, Bolt is certainly a preferred way to travel.

Boltbus Ticket Prices Boston To New York.

Of course, the biggest concern for travelers is usually cost. Ticket prices for flights between Boston to NY tend to start at $200. Fares for trains tend to be lower. Though, the price of an Amtrak ticket can still run $100 or more. Transportation by bus offers a cost-friendly way of traveling between cities.

Tickets bought at the counter cost $20.00. You can also buy your fare at the discount rate online. Boltbus tickets run as low as $30.00 round-trip when bought through their website. A one-way ticket only costs $15.00. (That’s less than the baggage fee charged by most major airlines!) You can even buy reduced tickets as late as a few hours before your departure.

You might also want to consider hunting for one of Bolt’s $1.00 fares if your trip isn’t for a while. Bolt and Megabus are the only two bus lines that offer $1.00 fares to its passengers. You can usually find one if you’re trip is a couple of months away. These seats are snatched up fast, so you have to be quick.

In many cases, Bolt’s dollar tickets are only for select departure times. So, they’re only good if you don’t have an open travel schedule. A dollar a ticket is the best deal on the market, especially for a bus line that offers so many extras. I suggest planning your trip in advance to take advantage of their offer.

In any case, Bolt’s low fares make weekend travel easy. Whether you’re a backpack traveler or family on the go, Bolt is a great way to bus from Boston to New York. Popular ticket sites like do not offer Bolt tickets. Tickets for Bolt must be bought from their website or at the ticket counter. For my buck, Boltbus has always been a favored method of travel between Boston to New York. Make it one of your favorites, too!

You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something that I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
